Alturas 1/22/10
On Friday, the 22nd of January a steady snow descends quietly on the Sawtooth valley. Thursday’s grading of the trails at Alturas Lake is no doubt covered over and disappearing under a soft white blanketing of 2 to 6 inches of new snow. We will groom again on Saturday morning weather permitting or at the first good break in this latest storm, rolling lost skate lanes and setting classic tracks for the weekend. At 1:30 Friday afternoon the temperature was 27 degrees under a luminous grey sky.
