Alturas Lake 1/25/10
On Monday, January 25th, at 11 a.m., the temperature in the Alturas Lake ski area was about 21 degrees. The sky was a blotched grey with one streak of bird’s egg blue above the Sawtooth Mountains. All of the ski trails were buffed out over the weekend and should still be in excellent condition. The skating base is firm but dreamy on all trails and the classic tracks are skiing well although looking a bit fuzzy on South Loop, Sheep Thrills, Over the Hill and the Trail to the Lake.
