ALTURAS LAKE SKI TRAILS 2/13/10
Misty ground hugging clouds slowly disappeared into bright Saturday morning sunshine at the Alturas Lake ski area on the 13th of February. Skiing is not recommended today for the triscadecaphobic, however all others should find the conditions favorable for midday enjoyment. By 9 a.m. the temperature was around 18 degrees on the sunny hilltops. All the trails were groomed on Friday and another compaction and combing is scheduled for this morning to take the 2 to 4 inches of new snow that fell overnight, push it on down and make it groovy. We expect the trails will be generally beautiful and dreamy soft after grooming and hope to keep them so throughout this Presidential Valentine Weekend.
