TOP TEN SKI TRAIL DAY
On Saturday morning the sun crested Galena Summit at 8 a.m. and jumped exuberantly into a clear blue sky over the Sawtooth valley. The ski trails at Alturas were all groomed for skating on Friday with some nice looking classic tracks on the Trail to the Lake, Over the Hill, Sheep Thrills and South Loop. Skiing should be great there today and the picnic table at the lake has been shovelled. After all that recent snow the trails may be a bit soft but that’s just how a lot of people like it. The trails at Park Creek were rolled on Thursday and are scheduled to be rolled again today once things warm up a bit. The temperature at 9 a.m. was around zero degrees and rising.
