SKI TRAILS GROOMED SUNDAY
On Sunday, all the ski trails at Alturas were rolled with two passes of the roller for an initilal compaction of the 6-12 inches of snow that blew in on Saturday. After that, the Trail to the Lake, Over the Hill and South Loop were compacted with the Ginzu groomer with the blades up. Classic tracks were set on those trails. Over night tempertures dropped with zero degrees recorded around dawn so trails may have firmed up a bit over night but do expect soft trails especially in drifted meadows. More grooming planned at Alturas for Tuesday.
Yesterday at Park Creek, all trails were packed and rolled, some actually re-rolled due to drifting. Lupine, camas, and shooting star were also groomed for skating. No classic tracks set. Today at 9 am the temperature is 6 deg at Park Creek with overcast skies. More grooming is planned for today, Monday, as soon as the temps rise a bit.
