New storm dumps on ski trails
On Friday, all the ski trails at Alturas were groomed for skate and classic… at Park Creek all trails were flattened or groomed as well. However, 4 inches of new snow overnight pushed around by another dose of high winds has no doubt obscured those trails. At 8 a.m. it was 15 degrees and still snowing and blowing at both ski areas. Further grooming won’t take place unless the snow lets up some and with a winter storm warning in effect until 11 p.m. for the Stanley/Sawtooth area, this may be a bad day for a ski adventure.
