Ski trails cold and flat

The ski trails of the Sawtooth Valley and Stanley Basin are undergoing improvement through compaction drag makeovers. Somewhat wider, flatter, firmer, and in excellent shape, the ski trails at Park Creek now await your pleasure. All trails were groomed for skate and classic on Wednesday and will be touched up again before the weekend.

At Alturas Lake, the Trail to the Lake as far as the bridge, Over the Hill and South Loop were graded and groomed for skating on Wednesday.  The bridge over Alturas Lake Creek was skirted with plywood on the melting sunny side and snow packed for for your comfort, safety and level transit. Classic tracks are pretty good on all trails except North Cabin. Further trail grooming is scheduled for Thursday once it warms up. The temperature at 10 a.m. was reported to be 10 degrees below zero and climbing.
