June 26th Fishing Report
With beautiful summer weather the Salmon River near Stanley is clear and dropping daily to a fishable level.
Chinook salmon are here! The last two days have seen about 15 fish arrive each day at the Sawtooth Hatchery so come and see the big ones. The Salmon River is open to salmon fishing from just above the mouth of the East Fork to 100 yards below the weir at the hatchery, 7 miles above town.
Valley floor lakes have been stocked and Valley Creek and the Salmon River will be stocked with catchable rainbows in the next few days.
The High Lakes are just beginning to open up. Expect to go through some snow to get to them for another week or so.
Stanley Lake is producing some nice Lake Trout, still near the surface.
