February 1, 2010 Highway Report
All highways leading to Stanley are currently open (Hwy 21 & 75)! The sun is shining here today with only a slight chance for snow beginning tomorrow through Friday. Travel should be a breeze, but watch out for those shady corners. Black ice lurks where you may least expect it!
January 26, 2010 Highway Report – 2
Well, it appears that the road (Highway 21) has been reopened to traffic. Apparently it occurred around Noon today. At least it was early in the week. We’d hate to have a road closure keep people from visiting all of us here in Stanley! Drive on!

Good Morning All! It’s a dark, cloudy morning here in Stanley with temps around 25. Highway 21 is CLOSED between Grandjean and Banner Summit due to avalanche danger. Things are looking sunny in Stanley today! All highways are open with wet to packed snow conditions, especially on Galena Summit. Highway closures have been quite infrequent this year, thus far, but always check with ITD or make a call to the Stanley City Clerk at 774-2286 prior to travel after or during storms. You ... Both highways, 75 and 21, are still open but it is currently snowing. Driving conditions are fair to difficult with packed snow on the roadways. Highway 75 to Challis doesn’t appear to be as bad as 75 to Ketchum. We will keep an eye on it, but I would remind people in your post to ... Read More →
