ALTURAS SKI TRAILS
In the upper Sawtooth Valley, the temperature was 29 degrees and snow was falling from a grey sky at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, the third day March. Trails at Alturas Lake were groomed on Monday and Tuesday, back when sun and blue skies were the rule. The trails were firm, flat and fast at that time. Grooming will take place on Thursday once again to prepare for this weekend’s Sawtooth Ski Festival, promising fine trails for both the classic and skate ski enthusiast.
Alturas Lake Ski Report
On Thursday morning, the 25th of February, an inch of light new snow covers the trails at Alturas Lake. The temperature at 8 a.m. was around 15 degrees. The trails have been in good shape and additional grooming today should produce a combed unbroken corduroy trail through a soft snowscape of preternatural beauty.

Misty ground hugging clouds slowly disappeared into bright Saturday morning sunshine at the Alturas Lake ski area on the 13th of February. Skiing is not recommended today for the triscadecaphobic, however all others should find the conditions favorable for midday enjoyment.
