SKI TRAILS OK, SNOW ON THE WAY
On Sunday, the 15th of January, all the skating lanes at Alturas Lake were regroomed. However, a persistant cold wind blowing across meadow areas was filling in the old classic tracks there and even some of the newly groomed skate lanes were being overblown as soon as the groomer passed. Hence, the treed trails should offert the best skiing at this time. At 9 a.m. on Monday the temperature had dropped to a chilly 5 degrees below 0 but predictions now call for warmer temperatures and possible snow over the next 10 days.
Ski Trails set for weekend

Ski Trails groomed over weekend
On Monday, the 9th of January, a frosty morning mist rose slowly from the snow fields of the Sawtooth Valley to coat the trees and shrubs with sparkling crystals. The ski trails at Park Creek and Alturas Lake were groomed over the weekend and should still be in pretty good shape.
