Good Ski Trails… cold temperatures
On the 7th of January, 2012, the temperature at the Sawtooth Valley Ski areas was around zero degrees at 8 a.m. but it should warm up as the sun crests the mountain horizon, with a predicted highs of 25 to 30 over the week end.
At Park Creek all trails were freshly groomed yesterday, with both skate and classic tracks on lupine, camas, shooting star and skyrocket. Larkspur is groomed for skate or touring.

On Friday evening one foot of snow fell in the Sawtooth Valley as what started out as a very wet storm cooled down and dried out a bit. The last Saturday of 2011 has started out sunny and cold with the temperature around 15 degrees in Stanley at 10 a.m. Good news… grooming has begun ... Read More →
Sawtooth Ski Trails not good!
Sorry, but during this ongoing storm cycle, temperatures ranging from 32 to 38 degrees have made trail grooming impossible at the Alturas Lake and Park Creek ski areas. Until we get some sustained low temperatures to freeze things solid again, expect to find 3 to 10 inches of ungroomed wet glommy snow on top of ... Read More →
