Wind, rain, sun and snow hit Sawtooth Ski Trails
On Wedneday, the Trail to the Lake, Wapiti and Over the Hill were rolled at the Alruras Lake Ski Area. However, as snow-rain drizzled down and the snowpack warmed to a mushy consistancy, even the most avid skier’s enthusiasm seemed bedraggled and a bit soggy. Over night several inches of heavy glommy snow fell accompanied by strong gusty winds. Before dawn the temperature was well above freezing but as the morning progressed the sky cleared and temperatures dropped. In this lull between waves of wet the sun has come out and we are going to try to reroll some trails but can’t really recommend or promise anything. Because of extremely variable conditions with wild temperature swings, high gusty winds and blowing snow, trail conditions may rapidly change.
