Alturas Lake 1/30/10
On Saturday, the 30th of January, as the full wolf moon dropped behind the Sawtooths Mountains and the golden sun rose over the Boulders, a new era in Sawtooth Ski Trail grooming dawned as well… With the arrival of our new ginzu grooming equipment at both Alturas Lake and Park Creek ski areas, purchased with your donations to the Sawtooth Ski Club, the ski trails are reaching new levels of beauty, harmony and a feng shui orientation that allows favorable flows of energy for skater and classic skier alike. At 10 a.m. the temperature was around 17 degrees at the lake and rising under a mix of blue sky and high clouds. The trails are well groomed and rated “most excellent”.

On Monday, January 25th, at 11 a.m., the temperature in the Alturas Lake ski area was about 21 degrees. The sky was a blotched grey with one streak of bird’s egg blue above the Sawtooth Mountains. Park Creek Ski Trails, January 20 afternoon
All ski trails at Park Creek are groomed and the ski surface is packed powder. Skiing is great! All trails are groomed for skate skiing and Lupine, Shooting Star, Camas, Sego and most of Skyrocket are groomed for classic skiing.
